These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Code Alpha Safety website and your interactions with Code Alpha LLC, doing business as Code Alpha Safety (“Code Alpha Safety,” “Code Alpha,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Code Alpha Safety brings Scan If Hurt™ products and services to the maritime community. Certain technology, account, profile, subscription, messaging, and related services are provided or operated by Riders Emergency Info LLC, doing business as Scan If Hurt™ (“Scan If Hurt”).
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By using the Code Alpha Safety website, purchasing products or services from Code Alpha Safety, submitting an inquiry, or otherwise interacting with Code Alpha Safety, you agree to these Terms. If you create or use a Scan If Hurt account or profile, additional terms provided by Scan If Hurt may also apply.
2. Code Alpha Safety and Scan If Hurt™
Code Alpha Safety is the maritime-facing brand of Code Alpha LLC. Code Alpha Safety brings Scan If Hurt™ to captains, crew, owners, guests, yacht management teams, fleets, marinas, maritime organizations, and other maritime users.
Scan If Hurt™ is provided and operated by Riders Emergency Info LLC. Scan If Hurt controls the underlying account, emergency-profile, Safety ID™, messaging, and platform functionality made available through its service.
Code Alpha Safety does not represent that it owns or independently operates the Scan If Hurt platform.
3. Service Description
Scan If Hurt™ uses a scannable Safety ID™ to connect a person scanning the ID to emergency information and contacts that the profile owner chooses to make available through the associated Scan If Hurt profile.
Available features may depend on the Scan If Hurt platform, the user’s account, device capabilities, connectivity, permissions, subscription status, and other factors outside Code Alpha Safety’s control.
4. User Information and Responsibility
Users are responsible for the information they choose to enter into their Scan If Hurt profile and for keeping that information accurate and current. Code Alpha Safety does not independently verify medical information, emergency contacts, personal information, or other information entered by a user.
Users should only make information available that they are authorized and comfortable sharing through the applicable Scan If Hurt profile.
5. Safety IDs™ and Scanning
A Safety ID™ provides an access point to the associated Scan If Hurt profile. Scanning a Safety ID does not itself contact emergency services, guarantee that a profile will be accessed, or guarantee that any person will use or act upon the information displayed.
Access may depend on a compatible device, internet or cellular connectivity, the condition and placement of the Safety ID, the status of the associated account, and the availability of the Scan If Hurt platform.
6. Emergency and Maritime Safety Disclaimer
Code Alpha Safety and Scan If Hurt™ are supplemental information-access tools. They are not emergency-response services and are not substitutes for professional medical care, appropriate local emergency services, vessel emergency procedures, or established maritime safety and communications equipment.
Users, vessel operators, crew, guests, and persons assisting in an emergency remain responsible for following applicable emergency procedures and contacting appropriate local emergency services when needed.
Nothing on the Code Alpha Safety website or within a Safety ID profile should be interpreted as medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a guarantee of a particular emergency outcome.
7. Location Features
Where location functionality is available through Scan If Hurt, location access or sharing may require action and permission from the person using the device. Code Alpha Safety does not represent that scanning a Safety ID automatically transmits a person’s location to emergency services, emergency contacts, or any other party.
8. Purchases, Subscriptions, Renewals, Cancellations, and Refunds
Pricing, subscription periods, renewal terms, cancellation requirements, refunds, and payment processing are governed by the terms presented at the time of purchase and, where applicable, by the Scan If Hurt terms governing the associated account or subscription.
Code Alpha Safety does not incorporate any specific subscription duration, automatic-renewal policy, lifetime-plan availability, or refund policy into these Terms unless that policy is expressly presented to the customer as part of the applicable Code Alpha Safety transaction.
9. Third-Party and Scan If Hurt Services
The Code Alpha Safety website may link to or rely upon websites, registration pages, payment services, profile systems, communications tools, or other services operated by Scan If Hurt or other third parties. Code Alpha Safety is not responsible for the independent operation, availability, security, privacy practices, or content of third-party services except to the extent required by applicable law.
10. Privacy and Personal Information
Information submitted directly to Code Alpha Safety, including website inquiries and business communications, is handled in accordance with the Code Alpha Safety Privacy Policy.
Information entered into a Scan If Hurt account, emergency profile, registration process, or other Scan If Hurt-operated service may be collected and processed by Riders Emergency Info LLC under Scan If Hurt’s applicable Privacy Policy and Terms.
Users should review both policies where both Code Alpha Safety and Scan If Hurt services are involved.

12. Service Availability
Code Alpha Safety does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Code Alpha Safety website or to services operated by Scan If Hurt or other third parties. Connectivity, platform availability, device compatibility, account status, and other conditions may affect access.
13. No Guarantee of Emergency Outcome
Code Alpha Safety does not guarantee that a Safety ID will be noticed, scanned, accessed, or used during an emergency, that any particular information will be available, that an emergency contact will be reached, or that use of the service will change a medical, safety, or emergency outcome.
14. Intellectual Property
Code Alpha Safety names, branding, website content, graphics, and other Code Alpha-owned materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Scan If Hurt™, Safety ID™, The Information Gap™, and other Scan If Hurt names, marks, technology, and materials remain the property of their respective owner(s). To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Code Alpha LLC and Code Alpha Safety are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from use of or inability to use the Code Alpha Safety website, a Safety ID, or a third-party service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Liability relating specifically to the Scan If Hurt platform may also be governed by the applicable Scan If Hurt terms.
